Zip and Splash Adventure
Be met directly at the cruise port area by your local, friendly representative who will welcome you to the Dominican Republic. You will be escorted to your waiting transportation for an approximate 20-minute scenic ride to the west where you will discover the beautiful Waterfalls of Damajagua, one of the highest rated attractions on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Also known as 27 Charcos, Mother Nature has created awe-inspiring pools, etched out of limestone, with stalactites and stalagmites in a thousand colors.
Only recently, around 1994, did this area become an attraction. Nestled in the rolling hills of a mountain range you will soon uncover a breath-taking site like you have never seen before. You will begin with an approximate 30-minute hike uphill to reach the area where you will start this active adventure in the water. You will then begin to make your way back down the hillside by swimming, jumping and sliding through the refreshing, crystal-clear water. For those who do not wish to participate in the higher jumps, there is a walk-around ladder for convenience.
By now you will no doubt have worked up an appetite, so it's time to make your way to your lunch stop. After the meet and greet at the Country House Bar you will settle in for a delicious, home-cooked Dominican lunch consisting of rice, beans, chicken or beef, fried sweet potatoes and yucca, vegetables, fresh tropical fruits and more.
From here your adventure continues as you make your way to the zip lining course. After the mandatory safety briefing from the trained professional staff, it's time to feel the adrenaline on the 8 ACCT certified zip lines, with a total of more than 7,900 feet of double, galvanized aircraft steel cable. A bottle of water will be attached to your harness to ensure you stay well hydrated during the activity, the longest ride is 2,460 feet. Never been zip lining before? Not a problem as no experience is required. Contrary to many other zip line parks, you are not involved in any active breaking where you use gloves for stopping. Don't miss out on zip line #9, the only way to finish is taking the plunge into the swimming pool!
After this fun-filled and exciting day you will be returned to the port area where your cruise ship will be waiting. Don't pass up this chance to experience two of the most thrilling adventures people travel from all over the world to experience in the Dominican Republic.
