World Famous Soccer Stadiums

Visit two of the most famous soccer stadiums in the world, those of Boca Juniors and River Plate. You will not only experience the thrill of these sports icons but also learn the amazing history of these venues and the athletes that played there.

You will be picked up at the cruise pier and transferred to the tour office located in downtown Buenos Aires. Here, you will meet your guide and travel to Buenos Aires' southern neighborhoods and arrive at your first destination, the mythical Boca Juniors stadium: La Bombonera. A simple look at the surrounding area will demonstrate the passion for soccer that is so apparent in this area. Inside Boca Juniors stadium we will visit the preferential seats, a section of the field, the popular terrace that holds the mythical 12 (the player number 12), the local changing room (that dates from 1978) and we then finish in the stands, from where we will see Diego Maradona's Box.

Next we will visit the Museo de la Pasion Boquense (Boca's Museum) where we will see all the players that ever played for the club. You will learn about the history and evolution of the jersey and then visit the trophies room. You will also enjoy a film showing you what it feels like to be a Boca player when he goes out to the pitch. You will learn the story of the 12 mentioned above and we will see the jerseys of two of the most important football players in the world, who have played in that stadium. After visiting the museum you will have some time on your own to visit the shop or buy snacks, lunch, and beverages (not included in the tour price).

Departing the stadium our next stop will be El Monumental in the Belgrano district. El Monumental (The Monument) is considered Argentina's national stadium and is home to the River Plate soccer team. Here we will take a sightseeing walk around the stadium and we will see the River Neighborhood, the Federal Shooting Range, the access gates and Rivermania, and the official licensed products shop. Next, you will visit the River Plate Museum, where we will learn about the history of the River Plate team, its stars, and its most important titles. You will also experience the Modulo de Translacion Temporal, a kind of time machine that will take us to the year of the foundation of the club. After the museum you will visit the actual stadium and marvel at its size and dimensions. Inside the stadium you will see The Coffee (the meeting point of the club), the press conference room, trophy hall, the presidential box, preferential seats, and then of course the world-famous field. You will also see the many other sports facilities on the stadium grounds a full training field, an Olympic swimming pool and the hotel for the students and minor leagues.

Your tour ends in downtown Buenos Aires on the main pedestrian street in Buenos Aires. Here you will have free time to stroll the street, see the many shops, have a snack or just relax. When you are finished with your free time, you will hire a taxi (there are many on this street) for the 10-minute drive back to the ship pier. The cost of the taxi is approximately $8 US for the taxi (not per person). The cost of the taxi is not included in the price of your tour.
