Once a major fort of the Ragusan Republic, today the city of Ston is a small, laid back fishing town with a stunning coastline.
Your journey begins as you meet your local, knowledgeable guide at the port and you make your way on a scenic ride 50km outside of Dubrovnik to Small (Mali) Ston where you will get to taste the finest oysters in the area.
While here you will visit the world famous Ston defensive walls; these impressive stone walls stretch for 3 miles around the towns of Ston and Mali Ston and are the second largest defensive walls after the Great Wall of China. Stop for amazing views on Big (Veliki) Ston, then make your way to the Old Town of Big Ston on other side of Peljesac Peninsula.
Once in Big Ston you can opt to enjoy a mouthwatering lunch (not included) at one of the highly rated local restaurants before taking to the city streets to admire the amazing architecture. Continue to a local winery to sample their award-winning wines while you gaze out over the numerous vineyards and the ancient salt works. Winemaking has a long tradition in this area and it is one of Peljesac's most important commodities.
