Waterfalls of Damajagua and Quick Zip
Be met directly at the cruise port area by your local, friendly representative who will welcome you to the Dominican Republic. You will be escorted to your waiting transportation for an approximate 20-minute scenic ride to the west where you will discover seven of the beautiful Waterfalls of Damajagua, one of the highest rated attractions on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Also known as 27 Charcos, Mother Nature has created awe-inspiring pools, etched out of limestone, with stalactites and stalagmites in a thousand colors.
Only recently, around 1994, did this area become an attraction. Nestled in the rolling hills of a mountain range you will soon uncover a breath-taking site like you have never seen before. You will begin with an approximately 30-minute hike uphill to reach the area where you will start this active adventure. You will then begin to make your way back down the hillside by swimming, jumping and sliding through the refreshing, crystal-clear water. For those who do not wish to participate in the higher jumps, there is a walk-around ladder for convenience.
From here your adventure continues as you make your way to the pool zip line. After the mandatory safety briefing from the trained professional staff, it's time to feel the adrenaline on three different zip lines.
By now you will no doubt have worked up an appetite, so it's time to make your way to your lunch stop. Settle in at the Country House Bar for a delicious, home-cooked Dominican lunch consisting of rice, beans, chicken tenders, fried plantains and eggplant, vegetables, and pasta salad.
Still up for more? Join us for a walk through our tropical garden to learn about the local flora and meet our friendly parrots before returning to the cruise ship pier.
Please Note: Please be aware that the Damajagua falls are a national park. With several cruise ships in port, smaller groups may be combined with others at the parks discretion.
