Private Village of Njegusi
One of the most well-known villages in Montenegro is Njegusi, which is perched atop Mountain Lovcen. It is the birthplace of the Petrovic Dynasty, who controlled Montenegro for more than three centuries. You will travel along a beautiful road with 25 winding turns to arrive at Njegusi. Views of Kotor, Perast, the whole Bay, and the open sea are magnificent from the road.
You will have a memorable experience and discover a customary way of life in a rural Montenegro area by visiting the house of a local host in Village Njegusi. Since Njegusi is renowned for its handcrafted local goods, you will get the chance to sample some of our hosts' family's creations while you are here.
Dried prosciutto from Njegusi, or Njeguski prsut, is the most well-known national product of Montenegro, and the family still makes it using the same methods as their ancestors. Additionally, you will learn how they make their own brandy and wine. This over a century old family house offers you the opportunity to sample these special treats while learning about the history of the area. In addition to learning about Montenegrin culture, the traditional decor of the house includes a display of historical artifacts.
This small group tour of Njegusi is an intimate and perfect way to be introduced to and enjoy the beautiful Montenegro countryside. Book now!
