On the first day of your immersive St. Petersburg tour, you'll enjoy spectacular sightseeing of some of the city's most prominent attractions. Check out Catherine's Palace--an immense, Baroque-style palace of Catherine the Great, her daughter Elizabeth (Peter the Great's daughter) and her son Paul I. Stand inside the Grand Hall with its Gallery of Light, and be amazed at the intricate amber mosaics with gold leaf and mirrors decorating the walls in the breathtaking Amber Room. Take some time to look out over the beautiful park grounds with fine sculptures and pavilions. Visit the Lower Park of Peterhof, a magnificent palace commissioned by none other than Peter the Great, and many other historic sights.
You'll also venture out into the canals of Russia and the Neva River on a cruise tour of the city and stop by the famed Faberge Museum, where you'll be able to see the largest collection of Faberge eggs in the world.
The second day of your tour continues your Russian experience. Start your day by taking a short ride on the subway to view the famous metro station. You'll visit the Church of Spilled Blood, which was built on the site where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated by political nihilists in 1881. Then, tour the Hermitage Museum and Winter Palace, a sanctuary of arts and culture, and the home to Russian leaders, respectively. On your final stop, you'll see St. Isaac's-the largest cathedral in Russia-standing 141 feet tall.
Over the course of your two-day excursion, you'll find yourself amazed by the majestic architecture and scenery of St. Petersburg as you take in the many sights and attractions that make the city unique.
Please Note: On some dates, tickets to Catherine's Palace might not be available due to the high demand and closing days of the museum. On these occasions, guests will visit the Grand Palace of Pavlovsk instead. No refunds are provided.
