On this visa-free shore excursion, you and a small group (a maximum of 16 guests) will discover the beauty and distinctiveness of St. Petersburg, Russia. Over the course of two days, you'll visit some of the city's most prominent landmarks and attractions, as well as enjoy a boat cruise tour of the city. Start your day by taking short ride on the subway to view the famous metro station. You'll then visit the Lower Park of Peterhof, a magnificient palace commissioned by none other than Peter the Great, and many other historic sights. Afterwards, you'll head to the beautiful city of Pushkin for a lunch break at a local restaurant (not included).
After enjoying your traditional Russian meal, check out Catherine's Palace-an immense, Baroque-style palace of Catherine the Great, her daughter Elizabeth (Peter the Great's daughter) and her son Paul I. Stand inside the Grand Hall with its Gallery of Light, and be amazed at the intricate amber mosaics with gold leaf and mirrors decorating the walls in the breathtaking Amber Room.
With the insight of your local, professional guide, you'll take in the cultural significance of the Hermitage Museum and its magnificent art pieces. Next, you'll visit the Church of Spilled Blood, a memorial built on the site of the assassination of Emperor Alexander II by political nihilists in 1881.
