Hot Springs Escape

This excursion was surprisingly wonderful! We would do it again. The entire trip, starting with the drive (Willie drove) to the location from the cruise port, the tour guide (Evelyn), the experience in the hot springs, lunch at the location, and the return trip to the cruise port, was worth every bit of time and expense. We passed two of Guatemala's three volcanoes and one was venting! We stopped just off the road to be able to take photos. Lots of good information about the plants and climatology of Guatemala. And Santa Teresita is a hidden gem, although the locals do know about it and use the pool and hot springs facilities. Our guide made sure that we knew where to go and what to do in the Thermal Circuit pools and the huge hot tub! Changing rooms, showers, and restrooms are provided, but not in great number. We were treated to a smoothie while we were enjoying the pools. And for lunch, the food was plentiful and tasty. The offerings were barbecue chicken, three different pizzas (10-inch!), or hamburger with french fries. Everyone got plenty to eat! I highly recommend this as an opportunity to see the Guatemala countryside and experience something unique and wonderful. And the driving time was about 15 minutes less than the drive to Antigua.

My mother and I did this excursion recently. We were not too sure about booking an excursion outside of the ship, but we were more than pleasantly surprised. Everyone we met was both professional and very kind. The hot springs were fabulous and just what we needed. I recommend giving yourself a couple hours there to get the full experience. The lunch that was provided was also delicious.
