Tequila Factory and Villages

During this exciting 6-hour tour of the Mazatlan countryside, you will step back in time as you observe the old ways in both lifestyle and work.

Your journey of discovery begins as you travel north of Mazatlan to La Noria, a Colonial mountain village. This former mining outpost is now known for its beautiful traditional handicrafts. Watch as artisans fashion leather goods, small coconut purses and more products by hand.

Nearby is the charming village of La Vinata where you can take a special tour of Sinaloa's oldest tequila factory. Learn how agave is harvested and observe how tequila is made both the modern way and with machinery used since the 1800s. Don't leave without enjoying a sample or two of tequila!

Continue to the village of Puerta de Canoa, where you will visit a candy shop that makes typical local Mexican candy and a horse farm that is known to be one of the best for training horses in Mexico. You will meet the horse trainer and take pictures with the horses, and then you will be treated to a small show featuring the "dancing" horses.

Next you will return to Mazatlan, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a favorite local restaurant. Before returning to the ship, you will visit Old Mazatlan to see the downtown Cathedral and the lookout point, which provides amazing views of the city, the lighthouse and the cruise ships below.
