On an open-air safari, feel the island breeze as you cruise through Basseterre and admire the beautiful views of the Caribbean and learn about the history of this incredible place. Your tour guide will take you to the National Museum, where the history of St. Kitts is shared in a photographic memorial.

You will then head over to the Berkeley Memorial which is a clock situated in the center of what is known as "The Circus in Basseterre." This clock has four faces and faces each of the four streets. From there, you will head over to the Independence Square. Formally known as Pall Mall Square, this site was known as the slave market and came to achieving political independence from the British Colony on September 19th, 1983. The Catholic Church and the St. George's Angelican Church is also on the list of places you will learn.

As you work your way west, you will stop and take photos at the War Memorial. It is here where you will see a slim white structure displaying two bronze plaques listing twenty men who died during World War I and six during World War II. There are three tombs, and each one is constructed out of the stone of the three islands, which comprised the colony of St. Kitts, Nevis, and Anguilla.

Your next stop, the Government House of St. Kitts. This house is known as the Springfield House. It is used as the official residence of the Governor-General of St. Kitts & Nevis. From here, you will venture out of the city westbound along the island's main road to Wingfield Estate where you will make a brief stop to observe the Sugar Estate ruins. These ruins are on the first land given by the English monarch in the entire West Indies and possess some of the earliest examples of British masonry.

As your open-air safari adventure comes to an end, your tour guide will take you back towards the city all the while experiencing a gentle tropical breeze as you reflect upon the beauty and history of Basseterre at St. Kitts.
