Rainy day on 7 color lagoon
This was a really special trip. Unfortunately, due to the recent hurricanes and rainy/overcast weather, the 7 color lagoon was only one color. Our tour guide was exceptional and the resort was lovely.

Beautiful sunny day!
We had a great day! My father was able to stay on shore and watch and relax while the 3 of us went kayaking through the mangrove. Big group - but we all stayed together and enjoyed the paddle. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the tacos were fantastic. Open bar. Note the lagoon is shallow at the shoreline. Water shoes would be useful.

Seven Color Lagoon Adventure
Was a beautiful place. The lagoon was peaceful. Had and enjoyable paddle thru the mangroves. Got stuck in a short rain shower but the rain was warm. Very enjoyable lunch afterwards.

Mayan Ruins and Lagoon
We were a bit disappointed that the winds were to gusty for kayaking, but this group switched us to a Mayan ruins tour that also stopped at the lagoon. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. There were still kayaks to use if we wanted to - and it wasn’t their fault about the winds.

Beautiful, remote, and no added costs.
Lake Bacalar is a beautiful lake at a beautiful small resort in what feels like the middle of nowhere. The kayaking was also very fun and the workers are extremely nice. Also, everything is included at the location including drinks (including a couple of local and delicious alcohol choices), a few tiki huts on the water, lawn chairs, etc... This location is also very well shaded. The only two things to watch out for, are the rocks on the water can be very slippery for older guests and calling it the 7 color lagoon is over selling it a bit. It is a beautiful lake where the different depths affect the color of the water, but I didn't see 7 colors, maybe 4.

What a way to relax
I can't believe this property isn't open to the general public. There were 6 of us on this excursion. Kayaked for a bit. Sat by the water. Had an amazing Mexican lunch. Would do it again in a heart beat.

Exclusive Experience
We greatly enjoyed our excursion to the Seven Colors Lagoon. There were only 10 other people in our shuttle and we had basically the whole resort on the lagoon to ourselves for the day. The shuttle ride to/from the lagoon is about an hour but the tour guide entertained us, talked about the area, and gave us tequila shots during the ride. We enjoyed a nice, guided kayak trip on the lagoon. The lunch was delicious and we could have as much as we wanted. The drinks at the bar were okay, not high-end but still good. It was a great value and we made memories that will last a lifetime!
