Roatan Zip and Eco Walk
After meeting your driver at the pier, you will make your way to the west end of the island, approximately a 30 minute drive, where your exciting, dual cable zipline experience awaits. Lockers are available for your beach bag ($1 US per locker. Lockers can hold more than 1 bag) during this exciting Roatan excursion.
After suiting up, your professional instructor will take you through zipline instruction and safety to make sure everyone is at ease before starting the adventure. Afraid of heights? Never zipped before? This is not a problem. They will walk you through every step of the way until you are zipping on your own on this Roatan excursion.
Then it's time to zip. On a course set out over more than 25-acres of lush Roatan scenery, you will zip just under 2 miles of cable between numerous platforms. Ziplines range from a short 40 feet (it will surprise you) to more than 1250 feet at heights from 20 to more than 40 feet from the ground. Depending on the number in your group, your zip time will last between 50 to 70 minutes. New or experienced, young or old, by the end, you will be wanting more. Local staff will be on hand to take pictures for those wanting to purchase "proof" they actually did it.
What goes down, must go back up. Setting out with your guide, you will set out on a walk through the raw jungle habitat back to your starting point. Walk over paved paths, wooden steps and suspension bridges while keeping an eye out for tropical flowers, "Tarzan" vines, birds, lizards, Iguanas, fruit and nut trees and amazing views.
The suspension bridges have a width of 4 feet and a capacity of 10 people. They vary in length from 150 feet to 200 feet, making them the longest and strongest bridges in the Western Caribbean. They range in height from 20 to 85 feet above the ground below. The walking portion of the tour lasts about 50 minutes and covers approximately one mile in distance, uphill.
Upon reaching the top, you will meet your driver for the transfer back to the cruise pier.
