Before boarding your motorized ocean raft, called a Seahawk, you will be given safety information and put on life jackets. You will then travel along the coast of Clover Passage. During the ride, you may be lucky enough to see wildlife such as bald eagles, whales, sea lions, and seals.
Upon arrival on a remote island in the Tongass National Forest, you will join an experienced Alaskan trail guide for a walk through natural, unspoiled beauty in the coastal rainforest. The trail takes you through a tour of Ketchikan's beautiful old-growth forest, by way of a secluded beach, and is mostly boardwalk, about one-mile in length and well maintained. Home to a diverse cross-section of animals including bears, eagles, salmon, sandhill cranes, wolves, and trumpeter swans, you will learn about the many amazing botanical species native to this region.
