Found nearly 1,700 years ago, Zhujiajiao is a village unlike any other. Like many of its 60,000 inhabitants, you'll have the option of exploring the village by foot (with an English- speaking guide) or by canal boat (not included in the price of the tour), seeing some of the 36 stone bridges and ancient buildings, like a Qing Dynasty post office still lining its riverbanks today. Views of the stunning Kezhi Garden and solemn yet ornate Yuanjin Buddhist Temple will be proudly presented.
Following lunch (at your own expense), you return to the city center and trek the culturally significant Bund waterfront. With nearly three miles of waterfront buildings dating to the 1930s and 40s, the Bund was home to many international financial and commercial centers.
