Private Sailing Cruise Aboard the Schooner Aquidneck

Sit back and relax or get involved as you sail you through Newport Harbor, into Narragansett Bay and along the shoreline of Newport's picturesque Ocean Drive. This private tour offers unparalleled beauty of two of the most beautiful bodies of water in the world aboard a schooner with billowing sails and extraordinary wood trim.

Be afforded, amazing and picturesque views of the Pell Bridge; Fort Adams, the largest coastal fortification in North America; Clingstone, "the house on a rock" and Hammersmith Farm, the former Summer Whitehouse of President Kennedy. Vintage America's Cup boats, lighthouses, super yachts and weekly races are common sights. No sailing experience is required as the 80-foot schooner was designed to carry guests in safety and provides a smooth, stable and comfortable sail. Teak benches and chair-height cabin tops provide comfortable seating and lounging for everyone. The uncluttered decks and wide beam enable guests to move about with ease.

Our local and very knowledgeable captains and crew know the history of the sights you will pass and will point out the highlights with light, informal commentary. No two trips are exactly alike since the wind and tide vary daily making each outing a unique experience.

Guests are welcome to help raise sails, take the wheel and sail or relax and enjoy the sights. Since we sail in protected waters, the sailing is very smooth. Queasiness, even for our most apprehensive guests, is never an issue.

This private tour is fun for all ages and will make for one of the most memorable days you can have with your family, friends or small group. Book now and enjoy an exciting schooner sail in Newport aboard Aquidneck.

Please Note: This boat can accommodate a maximum of 49 guests. No children under the age of six years old are allowed. Guests are permitted to bring food and drink onboard the vessel, no hard alcohol will be permitted.

WEATHER POLICY: This tour will operate in moderately inclement weather conditions. Tour operator will not cancel a charter due to intermittent rain, light to medium fog, cool or overcast conditions. Rain ponchos are kept onboard in the event of a passing shower. We suggest all guests bring attire appropriate for going out on the water in less than optimal conditions. Tour operator, reserves the right to cancel a sail due to heavy sustained rain, lightning, high winds, rough seas, imminent severe weather approaching or other conditions which the company considers dangerous. Dockside radar will be used as an aid in determining whether to depart or to continue a charter. The final decision to sail resides with the tour operator.

Decisions to sail will be based on real-time, actual conditions at departure time, not on forecasts. Weather conditions in Newport can change rapidly. Therefore, a decision to cancel a charter because of the weather is rarely made until 30 minutes to departure time.
