Plimoth Plantation is an actual living recreation of a Pilgrim community built when the first settlers arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. You can wander through the community and interact with Pilgrims as they go about their daily lives.
While in the village, you can also visit an actor potraying the Pokanoket Wampanoag Indian, Hobbamock, who lived near the village and provided guidance to the first Pilgrims. Historical objects from the museum's collection are on display, and there is an audiovisual presentation that will give you an overview of life in the 1620s. Then head to Plymouth Grist Mill, a reconstruction of the original built by the Pilgrims, which once stood on this site in 1636. After your visit to the mill, you have free time to explore the Plymouth waterfront. Enjoy many local shops, restaurants, and historical sites.
