Mangroves Tour
Get in touch with nature on this fun Cartagena mangroves tour. Your Cartagena canoe tour takes you around La Boquilla, a charming fishing village that dates back to the slave trade. Cartagena was once one of South America's prominent slave trading ports; La Boquilla was founded by slaves who managed to escape their captors.
Upon arriving at La Boquilla, you'll board your canoe and glide past the area's beautiful mangroves. As you make your way through the water, be on the lookout for egrets, pelicans and other cool creatures. Your guide will provide fun facts about your surroundings and is open to answering any questions you may have. The canoe portion of this Cartagena tour lasts roughly 45 minutes.
When you're done canoeing, your tour continues with a trip to Las Bovedas (The Vaults). This former dungeon has since been converted into a market where vendors sell arts, crafts and other souvenirs to take home with you. You will spend about 20 minutes here before returning to the pier.
