Meet your professional nature guide who will soon take you back in time with a visit to the Manoa rainforest to explore the over 100-year old, 200-acre Lyon Arboretum and Botanical Garden. After arrival, be provided a trail snack and rain poncho (if needed) then set off on a narrated nature hike along a trail to view several species of rare and endemic plants. There are over 5,000 tropical plants, flowers and trees to see while you traverse in this wet wonderland ecosystem. (Total hike is approximately 1-2 miles.)
Next, you will make your way towards East Oahu with an exclusive van shuttle to the 1,200ft. ridge top at Kamehame Ridge. From this privately owned clifftop perch, gaze overlooking Waimanalo Beach and the various shades of the blue Pacific Ocean with several offshore islands seemingly within your reach. This is a spectacular and rare perspective of windward Oahu that few tourists get to experience. You will enjoy a magnificent opportunity to capture some of the most breathtaking pictures of Oahu from here seeing two-sides of the island from one scenic point.
All along your scenic driving tour, your comfortable, air-conditioned shuttle will make stops for pictures overlooking Diamond Head surf breaks, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve and a flooded volcanic crater teaming with tropical fish (closed Tuesdays). Then it's on to Halona Point Blowhole, a lava tube with a small opening in its ceiling creating an ocean geyser sometimes shooting over 60 feet into the air and the famous Sandy Beach Park allowing you to watch surfers and bodysurfers attack the pounding shore break with skill and bravery.
