Welcome to Buenos Aires, The city of Tango! Meet your local guide and begin by adventuring off to the cobblestone streets of San Telmo, the birthplace of tango, and the oldest barrio in Buenos Aires. The Tango often called 'The Argentine Tango', is Argentina's contribution to the world of dance. The Tango came from the brothels and low cafes of Buenos Aires at the turn of the century. After a nice stroll, you will arrive at a conventillo, a historic tenement restored and used as a restaurant-theater, where La Ventana takes place. Enter the theater's beautifully preserved architectural interior, where you will travel back in time to the grandeur of the early 1900s. Here you will have a delicious meal consisting of typical and international dishes and exquisite Argentine wines.
While savoring your meal, enjoy the cultural and traditional tango and folkloric show. You will experience two typical orchestras - The Great Orchestra of Juan D'Arienzo and a quintet; two tango singers and six dancers while catching a glimpse of the gaucho culture, or Argentina's version of cowboys, through a demonstration of boleadoras, used to wrangle livestock.
