Visit Kristiansand
Kristiansand is the fifth largest city in Norway and has a long history dating back to prehistoric times.
On this informative tour, you will see the main attractions and discover its rich history. Start your expedition with a visit to Vest Agder Cultural Heritage Museum, the largest open-air museum in the country. Walk through the collection of 30 re-erected buildings showcasing the flavors of various districts.
Wind through the village of Soegne and pass by the white clapboard Soegne Gamle Kirke church as you make your way to Hoellen. At Hoellen, you can capture travel-guide-worthy photos of old streets lined with charming wooden houses, then pass by idyllic cottages on your scenic coastal ride back to Kristiansand.
Upon arrival, view the beautiful Kirstiansand Domkirke. This Neo-Gothic church was built in 1885 on the same site as 3 previous churches that were destroyed by fires and artillery shelling.
Make your way down Markens shopping street and travel to the seaside to view the canons at Christiansholm Fortress and savor stunning views of the marina and ocean.
At the local fish market, you will see a variety of fish and seafood, a major ingredient in Norwegian cuisine. Conclude your tour with a visit to Kilden, the new concert house. This structure, a striking blend of cool glass walls topped with a warm oak canopy, houses the local theatre, orchestra, and opera.
Please Note: The itinerary may change on the day of the tour to ensure all activities are visited, as some activities book quickly.
