Killer Whale Watching Safari Post Cruise Hotel
Not ready to go home quite yet? Spend an extra day in Vancouver and vacation with some of the 80 Orca whales than make this area their summer home.
Your day begins with a visit to Granville Island, a post-manufacturing city-turned-tourist-hotspot on a peninsula just off Vancouver's shores. Explore the island and its highlights including the extensive marina and numerous shopping areas. Meander through the stalls at Granville Island Public Market and marvel at the artisan foods, fine arts and handicrafts.
From there board a boat and ride to the whale watching area with a trained naturalist who will explain the area's eco system. Be sure to have your camera and binoculars available. With the Gray and Humpback whales also making appearances (spring and fall), your chances of seeing whales during your safari tour is 85 percent. You will likely encounter other marine life such as dolphin, sea lions, bald eagles and seals before your return to your hotel.
Book this popular tour now for the chance to see whales in their natural habitat. It is suggested that you bring sun protection plus a warm sweater or jacket due to windy conditions.
Please Note: Your 9-hour, family friendly tour is available April to October. Guests should be physically fit, and be able to enter and exit transportation. No wheelchair accessible available. Guests will have to make their own way to their respective hotel from the ship. Tour leaves from hotel lobby.
