Explore the beauty of Italy with a visit to San Remo, a picturesque town overlooking the Ligurian Sea, renowned for its mild climate. San Remo became a favorite destination for Russian nobility in the 19th century, including the Empress of Austria, famously known as Sissi. The legacy of this era is still visible today in the elegant Art Nouveau villas and the iconic casino built to entertain the aristocracy.

On Tuesdays and Saturdays, stroll through San Remo’s vibrant market, where you can find a variety of authentic Italian products such as Grana cheese, mozzarella, olive oil, and cured hams. This lively market is the perfect place to immerse yourself in local culture and flavors.

San Remo, overlooking the Ligurian Sea, is appreciated for its beauty and mild climate. Discover what in the nineteenth century wealthy Russians chose as a destination to escape to for the weather. Russian nobility eventually stayed and even built a castle and the walled village of La Pigna to protect the town. Eventually construction began of Art Nouveau villas that still exist today, and it was during this same time the casino was conceived to entertain the nobility.

Next, enjoy a scenic drive to the enchanting 12th-century village of Dolceacqua. Wander through its narrow, winding streets, explore charming art galleries, discover unique souvenir shops, and visit the historic castle.
