Island Beauty and Birds
Come and discover this small island rich in beauty, culture and a storied past, and get up-close and personal with some feathered natives.
Depart the cruise terminal in your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and be provided with an interesting narrative of the island during the short drive to the bird park via winding roads and rolling country hills.
Once you arrive, explore the bird park where this attraction features exotic, colorful birds in their natural habitat. Take a guided tour with the staff who will disseminate a wealth of information on the species of birds at the park where you can freely walk around among all the birds learning about their behavior. Discover different species such as Sun Conure, Ring Neck Parakeet, Brown Throated Conure, Black Headed Caique, and many more. Also, enjoy the many different plants, herbs, and vegetation in the botanical garden where the parrots live. The botanical gardens contain certain medicinal plants unique to the Caribbean which form healthy nutrition for the birds. What makes this St. Maarten tour even more special is that you can buy food and get the chance to feed the birds yourself, a truly up-close encounter. Total time spent here is approximately 30-45 minutes and includes bird food for feeding your feathered friends.
Re-board your transportation for the return ride to the cruise pier, but before you get there you will make a stop for some refreshing and delicious ice cream. While you make this break, you will also have the chance to sample some of the local Dutch cheese the island is known for and purchase some to take home.
Once back in town, guests can decide to stay in the area for shopping, dining or beach time and return on their own when ready.
