Interested in ancient history? Make a stop at the excavation site of the Teatro Romano, an amphitheater that dates back to the third century. While there, explore the nearby Alcazaba, a fortification built by the Moors in the 11th century. You're sure to enjoy the museum and gardens. The Alcazaba connects to Castillo de Gibralfaro, high atop Mount Gibralfaro. From there you can see dramatic views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea.
