Hidden Gems of Oahu and Waimea Botanical Garden
Experience the magic of Oahu on this full-day circle island tour, crafted to showcase the island's stunning landscapes, rich culture, and famous landmarks. Begin your journey as our friendly local guide introduces you to the day’s itinerary and prepares you for an unforgettable exploration.
Our first stop offers a panoramic view from the Amelia Earhart Lookout, perched high on the eastern slopes of Waikiki’s iconic Diamond Head. Capture breathtaking photos of Oahu’s southeastern coastline, with sights stretching to Hanauma Bay and even Maui on a clear day. Next, witness the awe-inspiring natural phenomenon of the Halona Blowhole, a lava-formed geyser that erupts when the ocean’s waves push through a narrow lava tube opening—a true Hawaiian marvel.
As we journey along the windward coast, gaze out over the vivid blue waters of Waimanalo Bay, where Oahu’s Rabbit Island stands proudly in the distance. We then make our way to the historic Pali Lookout, a vantage point with incredible views of Oahu's windward coast and the site where King Kamehameha I achieved victory in his quest to unite the Hawaiian Islands. This scenic spot offers not only beauty but also a deep connection to Hawaii's cultural heritage.
Our next stop is a charming local shop nestled beneath aged Banyan trees, where you can sample Hawaiian favorites like Kona coffee, macadamia nuts, and tempting chocolate treats. The tour continues to Chinaman’s Hat, also known as Mokoli'i, with the stunning Kualoa Valley as a backdrop—a landscape made famous by films like Jurassic Park. Here, you’ll have time to admire the dramatic scenery and learn about the island’s history.
For lunch, enjoy an authentic North Shore meal with a choice between the area’s beloved Garlic Shrimp plate or other Hawaiian specialties (non-shellfish and vegetarian options are available). Please bring cash for lunch. Afterward, stop at a local fruit stand for fresh tropical treats like ice-cold coconut water, mangos, and more.
We may have the chance to stop at Sunset Beach on Oahu's North Shore, a picturesque spot renowned for its pristine sands and powerful winter swells that attract surfers from around the world. However, please note that due to its popularity, a stop here is not always guaranteed. From there, we’ll continue on to Waimea Valley, where you can explore lush botanical gardens filled with plants from regions like South America, Guam, Fiji, and, of course, native Hawaiian flora. Stroll through the gardens to the breathtaking Waimea Waterfall, where swimming is sometimes permitted. If you’d like to take a dip, please bring a bathing suit and towel; lifejackets and lifeguards are available. Keep in mind, it’s a 1.5-mile round-trip walk to the waterfall, with an optional tram ride available for $10 (not included in the tour price).
Our final stop is the famous Dole Plantation, where you can indulge in the iconic Dole Whip and explore a range of pineapple-themed souvenirs to bring home.
After a full day of adventure, we’ll return you to Waikiki, where you’ll be perfectly timed to enjoy the evening at your leisure. Mahalo for joining us on this unforgettable journey around Oahu!
