Explore Cavtat On Your Own

Like many ancient European cities, the old town of Cavtat has been at the center of many conquests and power exchanges throughout the centuries. Founded by the Greeks on Rat Peninsula in the fourth century B.C., Cavtat fell under Roman Rule in 228 B.C. then was besieged and sacked throughout the ages until it became under the control of a powerful neighbor that today is Dubrovnik. Modern-day Cavtat is a thriving tourist destination and wealthy Croatian seaside resort.

Upon arrival in Cavtat, you will have 3 hours of free time to explore the town's many waterside boutique shops and restaurants and admire the many fancy mansions. You can also check out the Hotels Albatros and Epidaurus, a hedonistic gem in Southern Croatia. While in Cavtat, take advantage of the area's many coastal and country walks, and explore the surrounding peninsulas.

Alternatively, you can take to the waters in a kayak or visit one of the 15 swimming and sunbathing terraces around town to work on your tan. Your tour, your choice!

Skip the crowded, pre-planned city tours and experience Cavtat your way when you book this half-day tour today.

A Refreshing Visit to Cavtat.
We had a wonderful guide and driver, Iggy. We loved Cavtat and especially the water. The town is charming and wasn’t mobbed as Dubrovnik was. A breath of fresh air, very friendly locals and a delightful morning spent discovering this little gem of a seaside town. Bring a bathing suit and enjoy the public swimming areas.

A Great Relaxing Walkable Town
A great relaxing excursion. Driver was waiting on us and we had a pleasant drive to Cavtat. We were there in early morning before any bus excursion people showed up. A very walkable town.. Do this before you go to Dubrovnik.

This is a Beautiful little gem!
Did not have any idea what to expect of this town. We have been to Dubrovnik before and wanted to do something different. This was perfect. Our guide let us off in this beautiful fishing village and we walked around the beautiful path to enter the village. It is very elegent and understated. There are no souvenir shops but beautiful resturants to have a coffee, cocktail or a wonderful lunch. The scenery is breathtaking and we had the most wonderful elegent lunch at Leut which in my opinion should be 5 stars!!! I would recommend this tour highly. A beautiful walk and then an elegent relaxing lunch! Whatmore could you ask for.
