Boat Snorkel and Playa Mia

After arriving at the pier downtown, you will board your boat and set sail on the shimmering water for one of Cozumel's best reef areas, Colombia and El Cielo, located inside the National Marine Park. In transit, your crew will prepare your snorkeling equipment and give instructions on its use during the approximately 1 hour trip.

Jump in with both feet and begin your ocean adventure, you will enter the water from the boat and drift snorkel (carried along by the tide) as the wonderful underwater world of Cozumel appears below you. You will spend approximately 35 to 40 minutes in the water at each vibrant reef.

At El Cielo, named after heaven itself, marvel at the starfish that decorate the sandy ocean floor. This sandbank in the southwestern tip of Cozumel is an incredibly beautiful spot with turquoise waters and shallow areas where the starfish are known to gather. The water depth at Cielo is very shallow, usually only waste deep, and is known as a sandbar. El Cielo is only accessible by boat and is about a half mile from the coast. The powder white sand will massage your feet every step you take.

Next, journey to Colombia Reef, a sublime snorkeling spot hailed as one of the Marine National Park's finest. Mild currents greet you in a protected bay like area where the shallow coral heads rise around 10-30 feet above the sandy ocean floor. Situated near Colombia Lagoon this area sometimes gets cool, fresh water coming from the lagoon. With excellent visibility and diverse variety of marine life, Colombia Reef is a perfect place to spot sea turtles, coral communities, barracudas, eagle rays and schools of shimmering fish.

From here, you will climb back aboard your boat and make your way to Playa Mia which is only 15 minutes away. Upon arrival at Cozumel's most popular full service beach, you will have approximately 90 minutes of fun.

Playa Mia offers something for everyone. In addition to the white sand beach and beautiful Cozumel water, there is a shopping area, swimming pool, hammocks, lounge chairs, volleyball and soccer court, trampoline, ping-pong tables, restrooms, kayaks, paddle boats, sailboats, water trampoline, water bicycles, floating mats, and the amazing iceberg water mountain.

Your time at Playa Mia also includes the delicious buffet at the main restaurant with international and national specialties. Other things available for additional fees; drinks at one of the bars, beach umbrellas, snorkel gear, other water sport rentals, outdoor massage, hair braiding, temporary tattoos, long distance phone service, ceramic painting and more.

For the younger kids, there is a kid's club complete with activities such as Spanish lessons, arts, crafts and games. There is also Buccaneer Bay with water cannons and slides. For the older kids and kids at heart, there are two 200-foot water slides in addition to the pool and ocean. Under the ocean, there are sunken Mayan relics you can snorkel over and discover.

At the appointed time and place you will meet for your return trip.

Great adventure
We missed out on one place to snorkel due to the current of the water. The tour guide were able to give us extra time in the water. They were very kind and knowledgeable.

Great Time
The crew was very informative and welcoming. The snorkeling was good, the rough water made it alittle diffucult, but the coral and aquatic life was great! A little snorkeling practice prior to trip is helpful!
Playa Mia is a great place to hang out and enjoy the beach!

Playa MIa & boat snorkel
Note - 7 ships in port at Cozumel !
Very good tour ! Boat had 4 assistants to help people in and out of the water. Reef very nice with very good display of fish & coral. 2nd stop was a sand bar full of star fish - also very nice. We than went to the resort where you could eat & drink all you want and than hang out at the beach. Due to time, I had to get back to my ship.

Cozumel Snorkling
What a great excursion from beginning to end. The catamaran was beautiful & clean, the crew phenomenal. Their instructions & guidance in the water was exemplary. Two swim sights, the most beautiful water I have ever seen.
Just the snorkeling was worth the cost, After the second dive we were taken to their beach resort had a fab lunch & open bar! You can not get better value for your money.
No need to look anywhere else for a great experience in Cozumel.

Absolutely Wonderful!
This was by far one of the best excursions I've been on. The staff were so helpful, friendly and really made the experience the best. Manuel was especially great. It was perfect for our group of 10. We wanted to snorkel, do the beach and drink! If your're looking for an all in one excursion this is the one to choose!

Great Experience
Our taxi took us to the wrong place first and we were a little rattled, but when we got the right pier and met our guide Carlos we knew it was going to be a great experience. Carlos learned everyone's names and the ones coming from cruise ships, he was very careful to give us all the information we needed to get back to the cruise on time ! Snorkeling was great (but a little crowded) and we even got to take out a sailboat at the beach which was included in the price. It was a wonderful experience and Carlos and his crew are the best!
