Two Tank Dive for Certified Divers
Two Tank Dive for Certified Divers
Acapulco is filled with interesting dive sites. It takes less than 30 minutes to reach any of them by boat. In this Two-Tank Dive for Certified Divers, your choices include sunken ships, walls, pass-through rock formations, and the acclaimed Sea Mountain, whose depth ranges from 15 feet at its peak down to 150 feet. There are also more than 10 dive sites clustered around a local island.
The diving changes by season, but sea life is always plentiful. You'll see sandy and rocky bottom composition with small coral formations, sea fans, barnacles, gorgonians, sea stars, trumpet fish, jacks, schools of mackerel, sea horses, and, on occasion, sea turtles, eagle rays, whale sharks, and manta rays.
November through February is the best time of the year to dive in Acapulco, with 50 feet average visibility and water temperatures that generally range from 82-86 degrees. The waters cool down from March through May, with average temperatures of 65-75 degrees. Plankton during these months tends to reduce the visibility, but at the same time adds the possibility of seeing whales and dolphins on your dive. The water warms up to around 85 degrees from June through October, with visibility generally very good but dependent on local rain activity.
