Casablanca or San Antonio Valley

A glass of wine is the perfect complement to many things, and a Chile tour is no exception. On this Chile winery tour, you will have the option of spending half a day exploring one of two popular wine regions, Casablanca Valley or San Antonio Valley. Although these two valleys neighbor each other, each valley is known for its distinct wines.

Your guide will discuss which valley you wish to visit and then prepare to embark on a fun adventure learning about wine-making and its long history in Chile.

Casablanca Valley is the valley of choice for those interested in white wines. The region is known for producing some of the finest chardonnay and sauvignon blanc in the country. Considered by some as the Napa Valley of Chile, the valley is home to a number of notable vineyards, including Casas del Bosque, whose vineyard spans almost 600 acres, as well as Veramonte, and Emiliana. The reasons vineyards thrive here are the cool climate and elevation, which make it the ideal environment for winemaking; the strong winds here protect the grapes by keeping mold at bay. Your Casablanca Valley tour includes admission to one winery.

If red wines are more your taste, then the San Antonio Valley is for you. This area is one of the youngest wine regions as well as one of the smallest, but the quality of its wines is just as good as its elders; the region is known for its premium pinot noir. Although the valley produces top-notch wines, it's not exactly an ideal environment; thin soil and lack of freshwater have been known to hamper wine production. Your tour of this valley includes admission to one winery.

The actual winery visited the day of your tour will depend on the wineries. Based on what they are doing/ where they are in the wine making process, wineries may close for a day / week to the public without notice. Your guide will discuss the options available the day of your tour.
