North Shore Capilano and Grouse Mountain (Hotel Guests)

If you are staying in a hotel in Vancouver and have a day free, take some time to explore Vancouver's North Shore and have a day full of adventure while in this scenic region surrounding the city. Visit the Capilano Fish Hatchery and learn about the interesting life cycle of the Pacific Salmon. Travel to great heights above Vancouver while exploring Grouse Mountain. Also, visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge and enjoy the many treetop trails and cliff walks that await you.

Begin your tour with a slow drive over the Lion's Gate Bridge, which spans the entrance to Vancouver's port. The bridge offers unparalleled views of the harbor and English Bay beyond. Once across to the North Shore, head to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Trek along the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which is raised 230 feet above the Capilano River and crosses a span of 450 feet. Enjoy the park's Treetop Adventures and venture across a series of elevated suspension bridges, while walking among magnificent Douglas fir trees that cover the forest floor. While on your North Shore tour in Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, brave the Cliff Walk. Suspended walkways meander through rainforest vegetation and jut out from granite cliffs. Many of the high, narrow walkways feature glass floors, which are all that separate you from the magnificent canyons hundreds of feet below.

Continue on to your next stop at the Capilano Fish Hatchery. Wonder at nature's incredible ability to sustain itself as you are shown how salmon are helped through man's intrusion on their habitat. Learn about their life cycle and watch them as they leap their way upriver and through the glassed-in fish ladder.

Next, you will ascend 3,700 feet above Vancouver as you ride up the Grouse Mountain Skyride. From this impressive height, view the city, the Pacific Ocean, and the Gulf Islands below as they get smaller and smaller as you ride higher and higher up the mountain. Once at the top, take the opportunity to enjoy Grouse Mountain's many attractions. Depending on the season you travel, you will see lumberjack shows, grizzly bears at the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife, and even theatre presentations.

See Vancouver's North Shore and uncover your adventurous side while on this amazing Canadian tour. With hotel pickup and drop-off, you can enjoy your spectacular day with ease and convenience.

Please Note: This tour is for hotel guests who need to be dropped off at a hotel or the airport, and can accommodate luggage. North Shore Capilano and Grouse Mountain Tour
This was an excellent way of spending the day while waiting to catch the plane at night. The guide was really friendly and cheerful. They took our large bags in the back of the bus and at the end of the day dropped us at the airport.

Great Tour for our Extra Day in Vancouver
Our guide was very knowledgeable, with lots of experience related to the tour. But his enthusiasm as a guide for the area never dwindled! We enjoyed the tour of the fishhatchery - the guide added a lot of helpful information so that we understood better the process and its impact on the cycle of the salmon and the area's ecosystem. We enjoyed the Capilano Suspension Bridge more than we had imagined, largely because of the many treehouse bridges. Grouse Mountain is a not-to-be forgotten experience - the bears had been awakening from hibernation for just a couple weeks! Their story (and the photos we were able to take) was amazing. No heavy hiking needed to make the entire experience enjoyable. (Of course, the weather helped!) Our guide also was full of great ideas for dinner in Vancouver! We will not forget this tour, and would like to visit Vancouver again in the future.

a fun experience worth the time and money
The Grouse Mountain tour comprises seeing the birds of prey, the lumberjack show (family fun), wood carvings, two grizzlies and magnificent views of Vancouver. The swinging bridge at Capilano and the elevated tree walkway were unforgettable.

Hatchery/GrouseMt/Suspension bridge
Even though it was a rainy day, we had a great time. Our guide, Joe, was awesome. Friendly, informative and very helpful. He seemed to enjoy his job and made a nasty rainy day bearable.

North Shore
Unfortunately it was a foggy day at the top of the mountain, but the scenery was great. I even crossed the Capilano Suspension Bridge which was something that I had not planned on doing. Great adventure.

Terrific Small-Group Tour
Yes, when you're staying in a hotel in downtown Vancouver you can take the free shuttle to Capilano bridge...but when you get there the entrance lines are a mile long. We've been before, but were traveling with friends, including a 5-year-old, and did not want to hassle with driving in an unfamiliar area. This tour was a great alternative. We were picked up at our hotel right on time. The shuttle bus small and clean with a well-spoken tour guide/driver. At Capilano we had to wait in the line to walk over the bridge, but not to get in the gate. There was plenty of time to explore the park. Arrived at Grouse Mountain, walked onto a tram to the top and in time to attend each of the shows that afternoon. Really enjoyed the lumberjack and bird shows. We were returned to our hotel right on time.
