Juneau Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier Tour

Your Juneau excursion adventure begins with a short drive to a scenic harbor. Here, you will board a mammal-friendly jet boat equipped with water jet drives to ensure a quiet underwater operation without dangerous propellers that may frighten or harm the animals. The boats have an enclosed and heated cabin, complete with indoor plumbing. In addition, the boat only holds a maximum of 40 guests. There are large viewing windows and an outdoor viewing deck, providing an up-close and personal experience while you observe and photograph the animals in their natural surroundings.
On this Juneau excursion, you will be on the boat for approximately two hours in an area that the whales frequent every summer.
Returning to land, you will travel further into the valley to see the only "drive up" glacier in Southeast Alaska. Once you arrive at the Visitor's Center (entrance included), you will have approximately 45 minutes to explore on your own. Enjoy an elevated view of the glacier across the Mendenhall Lake, see the exhibits, or watch a short film about the Juneau Ice Fields. For those guests feeling more adventurous during this Juneau excursion, there are several hiking paths around the lake area, including Photo Point Trail, which winds along Mendenhall Lake to an unobstructed view of the glacier face. At the appointed time, meet your guide for the trip back to town.
Ketchikan Zipline Adventure Tour
Your Ketchikan shore excursion begins as you board your motor coach for a scenic, narrated 25 minute drive out of downtown Ketchikan to Knudson Cove, an "off the beaten track" waterfront property in the Tongass National Forest-your playground for the next 2 hours.
Before you begin, professional guides will instruct and outfit you with the best safety equipment in an open air forest pavilion. Then the zipline adventure begins as gravity pulls you along seven zip lines. You will catch glimpses of bald eagles and the ocean below as you glide through old growth cedars, fly into an ancient tree onto the Eagle's Nest Platform, traverse a swaying log, swing across rope loops, feel the speed and acceleration of landing on a one of a kind ocean platform located 50' over the water, and finally the rush of zipping to the ground.
Once back on ground, if you still haven't had enough of this zipline adventure park, head over to the 50-foot climbing tower where guides will show you techniques needed to climb to the top. A circular staircase inside the tower enables others to climb up, take in the mountain and ocean views, and snap photos of climbers proudly ringing the bell at the top of the wall. Don't worry! These ziplines are easy. There is no hand braking. Braking systems are state of the art.
For the less adventurous members of your party, guides can assist you to skip elements. After your Ketchikan zipline adventure tour, there is time to shop for souvenirs before boarding your motor coach for the return drive back to the pier. Ready to zip? Then come out and zip! Scenic Rafting Float Trip on Taiya River in Skagway, Alaska
Setting out from the downtown area on your family-friendly Scenic Skagway Float excursion, enjoy a 10-mile drive along the coast to the beautiful Dyea Valley, home to an old gold rush settlement, which has now returned to nature. On the drive to the float tour, you may spot seals and eagles, and your driver will share some information on the area's history and nature. See the start of the famous Chilkoot Trail where thousands journeyed in the pursuit of gold.
Upon arrival at the put-in location, you will get your flotation vest and your rubber boots before boarding the rubber raft with your captain/guide. Along with your group of at most 11 guests, you will sit back and let your guide do the paddling. On this Skagway cruise excursion, your guide will point out wildlife and native plants, and tell stories of the area's fascinating history as you float down the gentle Taiya River. Float time is approximately 40 to 45 minutes on the river, depending on the current. After the rafting, enjoy a riverside snack.
Time permitting, you will also stop at the Skagway scenic overlook for a panoramic view of the town after the float tour.
Please Note: Rubber boots are provided on this tour as there will be a few inches of wading in water required to board the raft.
