Departing the pier, you will drive through the Mecklenburg countryside for approximately 2 hours, passing wide fields and charming villages on your way to Berlin. Upon arrival in the city, you will meet your local professional guide outside the Charlottenburg Palace. Take in the facade of this marvelous site and don't forget to take pictures!
You will then set out on a city orientation drive. Photo stops will be made at the East Side Gallery (a remaining portion of the Berlin Wall), Checkpoint Charlie and the Gendarmenmarkt before stopping at the Brandenburg Gate.
Here you will leave your transportation and follow your guide through the Brandenburg Gate to the Reichstag, with its famous cupola, and the Holocaust Memorial.
During your city orientation, you will also see sites such as Museum Island, Unter den Linden Boulevard, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the victory column, and a drive through part of the Tiergarten Park. A photo stop will be made at the Tempelhof Airlift Memorial as well. All through the tour, your local guide will be able to tell you more about the days of two Berlins and the changes Berlin has gone through since the German reunification.
During the tour, you will have 45 minutes of free time for shopping or having lunch on your own at the KaDeWe, Europe's biggest department store, located on Kurfurstendamm before heading back to your cruise ship.
