Home » The Best Things to Do in Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Palma de Mallorca is a beautiful place to visit via cruise ship, and is the ideal stop for those who want to enjoy a relaxing day in a beautiful Mediterranean city that offers delicious, fresh food, quaint little beaches and a real sense of Spanish atmosphere. The port terminal in Palma is within walking distance of the city center, and during the summer months, it can be a rather pleasant walk indeed — plus, you don’t need a map!

If you’re looking for the best things to do in Palma de Mallorca on a cruise, start here!

From your ship, you will see the stunning Palma Cathedral; you really can’t miss it! Head toward it, and you are going in the right direction. The same applies for coming back — look for your ship, and it shall lead the way.

Palma Cathedral Cruise Tour in Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Palma is the ideal stop for those who want to enjoy a relaxing day in a beautiful Mediterranean city that offers delicious, fresh food, quaint little beaches and a real sense of Spanish atmosphere. I always enjoy my time here, even though I never really do much. Sometimes I like to just find a seat on the waterfront and watch the world go by — it is quite idyllic.

If you have visited before and want to do something new or just want to experience a little more of the island of Mallorca, then I would recommend the Exclusive Soller and Valldemosa excursion. This is a full-day tour, and it only accommodates a maximum of 30 guests. That means no large crowds, and it will run regardless of how many people book it.

Palma de Mallorca Shore Excursion

You’ll begin with a drive through the Sierra Tramuntana Mountain range (which is a UNESCO World Heritage site) before stopping to enjoy a fully guided walking tour and some free time before your drive to Soller. It really is a wonderfully scenic tour and a chance to see so much of this island gem!

If you want to check out a bustling nearby resort on your own, then you can catch a bus from outside the cruise port into Palma Nova/Magaluf. The journey takes about 30 minutes, but here you will find a typical Spanish resort where everything is aimed at tourists (mainly British tourists), and there are a few good beaches. For the younger generation, Magaluf is the party capital of Mallorca, and there are more than a few bars where you can quench your thirst and let your hair down.

There’s something for everyone!
