Cruise Ship PierPARTICIPANTS MUST BE IN GOOD PHYSICAL CONDITION. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY: Drysuit diving experience in the form of either Drysuit certification or a minimum of 10 logged drysuit dives is required. Guests who choose to participate must have dived in a drysuit within the last 2 years. The local representative dive guide will ask guests to see proof of certification or logbook before the tour starts. All divers have to supply their height/weight upon booking to ensure suitable equipment is provided for the dive. For safety reasons, all divers need to understand instructions in English and be able to communicate with the dive guide in English. In order to participate in this tour, you must have an Open Water diver certification or higher. Also please evaluate your physical health, if you have any medical issues, please check your health certificate and get physician approval if needed.
Guest are not allowed to dive or snorkel in Silfra if any of the following conditions apply:
- Inability to perform moderate exercise (swimming 500 meters and walking 600 meters)
- Current or previous heart disease, heart surgery, or heart attack
- Current lung disease
- Previous pneumothorax (collapsed lung), chest disease or chest surgery
- Head injury with loss of consciousness during recent years
- Thrombocytopenia or other blood disorders
- Colostomy or ileostomy
- Epilepsy or conditions resulting in sudden unconsciousness
- Obesity
If you have any of the following conditions, you are allowed to dive or snorkel Silfra if you can provide a doctor's letter before the tour:
- Higher or lower blood pressure than normal
- Type 1 diabetes
- Asthma (mild to severe)
