Majestic Valletta - Summer
Valletta, the capital of Malta, is a World Heritage Site with architecture dating back to the 16th century.
Driving from the port, you will climb up to the city overlooking the Grand Harbor. The city is named for Jean de la Valette, who successfully defended the island from the Ottoman invasion in 1565. Upon arrival, you will walk with your guide to the Barrakka Gardens and their incredible views over the Grand Harbor.
You will then walk to the St. John's Co-Cathedral, where you will have an interior visit of the church, which was first started in 1573 by order of the Grand Master. The Cathedral houses one of Europe's most impressive and famous artworks, Caravaggio's "Beheading of St. John the Baptist."
You will then walk through Valletta on an orientation walk before enjoying some free time. You will then visit the Malta Experience, an audio/visual show that will take you through the history of the island in 45 minutes. After the show, you will return to the port.
