Journey from Montevideo to Punta del Este Port

Here's your chance to explore Casapueblo, the iconic La Mano Sculpture, explore the peninsula, and the Punta del Este Port on this driving tour - starting at the Minister of Tourism building located outside the main gate of Port.

You will get to stop at Casapueblo in Punta Ballena, formerly the home of Carlos Paez Viralo, one of Uruguay's most famous artists. This whimsical, nine-story white-washed villa by the sea was the artist's summer residence. Browse five of the villa's 12 rooms, watch a film about the artist and his life, and grab a refreshment from the upstairs bar while you soak in the spectacular views. Entrance fee will be included with access to the Art Museum and terrace cafe.

You will then head to Punta del Este, a small seaside town-turned-international jet-setting city a short drive away. Here, celebrity homes dot the coastline, while the impressive skyline boasts high rises and million dollar mansions. You will take a drive through the peninsula with time for lunch and sightseeing (at your own leisure).

Make a stop at the famous La Mano or, Hand out of the Sand, sculpture, the reaching fingers a warning to swimmers and surfers of the dangers inherent in the sea's strong waves. Be sure to take a picture before your drive back to Montevideo and the Port, the travel time is sufficient if your ship departs in the early evening.
