Cultural Walking Tour
Your expedition begins as you are picked up at port and taken to Tampaksiring village.
Drop in on a village school then visit a local farm to learn about Balinese coffee and spices and be treated to a delicious coffee tasting. At Pakerisan River you will observe various Hindu and Buddhist temples, 8 of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Start with Pegulingan Temple then make your way to Tirta Empul Temple to watch a purifying blessing bath in the pertirtann or bathing pool.
Continue to Gunung Kawi, a secluded 11th century royal tomb complex nestled amid rice terraces. Allow the strong and mystic energy to surround you as you walk amongst these sites.
In the village compound you will have a chance to meet with the locals, learn about their community living system and sample fresh young coconut. Conclude your culture walk at the rice fields and the Subak Pulagan irrigation system. This system uses terraces and water temples, which are under the authority of priests.
Water rituals are used to connect people to the earth and the resulting rice is viewed as a gift of the gods. Sign up to see and experience a unique area of Bali that not many people get to see.
Please Note: A tourist visa is required to debark in Indonesia. Cruise lines do not usually provide this visa, therefore, you will need to obtain one prior to your cruise.
