Ward Cove Sea Cycle Wildlife Tour
Ward Cove in a Sea Cycle
Sea cycling is a comfortable, hands free, fun adventure for all ages.
On this tour, you will be picked up from downtown Ketchikan, where the cruise ships arrive, to the float house facility in Ward Cove. It is about a 15-minute drive to Ward Cove. Upon arrival to the float house, you will gear up, in a group of no more than 12 guests, and you will be given a tutorial on how the sea cycles work. Life jackets and bottled water will be provided on the tour. There will be two adults per sea cycle on this Ketchikan cruise excursion. Children big enough to pedal may also pedal, or they can ride on a backseat.
This is a guided tour. Once everyone is on their sea cycles you will begin pedaling to a serene wildlife estuary. On this excursion, it is common to see seals, ducks and their ducklings, eagles, starfish, and during salmon runs, you may occasionally see bears.
Setting out with your local, expert guide, you will be in the middle of nature in no time. As you pedal along, your guide will share their love and knowledge of Alaska, including the tremendous history of Alaska's vital industries, culture, lifestyles, and abundant wildlife along its rich coastline.
You will then return to the float house where we will satisfy your appetite with a wonderful Alaskan-style snack which may include smoked salmon dip, cheese, crackers, fruit, cookies, coffee, hot chocolate, or tea. The total time on the Sea Cycle is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. Guests will then be brought back downtown to the cruise ship docks.
