Mount Wellington Descent

From the summit to the sea, this is Hobart's ultimate experience. Departing Hobart, this tour heads to the summit of Mount Wellington. On the way, your guide will provide an insight into the Mountain itself.

Rising to a height of 4,200 feet, Mt. Wellington is a spectacular and panoramic backdrop for the city of Hobart. From the summit you will have the time to appreciate this alpine environment and its spectacular views over Hobart & Southern Tasmania. Your guide will then fit you with a bicycle, helmet and safety vest followed by a detailed cycle safety briefing.

After a practice ride at the summit, regroup and follow your guide on Tasmania's ultimate downhill cycle 4,200 feet to sea level. This 13 mile downhill ride has amazing views of contrasting landscapes, as you travel from sub-alpine and mountain rainforests to the vibrant waterfront of Hobart.

There are several stops to take in the views, take some photos and regroup. The tour provides options for all levels of experience; allowing you to enjoy the journey at your own pace or take an exhilarating ride down the mountain.

Optional off-road sections are available for the more adventurous. As the tour moves off the mountain, you will see the highlights of Hobart as you cycle past places of interest such as The Springs, Cascade Brewery and Gardens, The Female Factory, South Hobart and Battery Point. The tour ends at Hobart's waterfront.
